about

When I was little... I mean younger (I've never been tall!), I would get hurt. Sometimes I would get hurt falling off my bike when I was learning to ride a two wheeler. Sometimes I would get hurt when people called me names. Now that I'm grown up, I've tried to learn how to control things so that I won't get hurt anymore. I discovered there's nothing we can do to stop some hurts from happening. I also found out that it doesn't mean we are bad if we hurt.

When I was young, I would go to my mom for a hug when i was feeling sad. Now, I would look pretty silly driving 450 kilometres to see my mom every time I got hurt. So, I go to Jesus. He doesn't make the hurt go a way, but it helps to know he understands how I feel. I know he understands because he's been hurt too.

lyrics

I was riding my bike down a little hill,
when the front wheel turned and I fell off,
and my elbow and knees were hurt real bad
and I cred to my Mon, "I'm hurting."

Chorus:
And she picked me up and she held me close
and she dried all of my tears.
She said, "It's OK to hurt, though it's not much fun.
There is nothing to fear."

I was playing with friends when we started to fight
and words were said that weren't real nice
and I ran to the house with those words in my ears,
mean words in my heart: I'm hurting.
(chorus)

And now I'm grown up with kids of my own
and my very own house and my very own phone.
And sometimes I still get hurt real bad
And I cry to my Lord, "I'm hurting."

And He picks me up and he holds me close
and He dries all of my tears.
He says, "It's OK to hurt ,though it's not much fun.
There is nothing to fear."
